There's something about an airfield that makes the perfect setting for automotive culture.

At Airport X Exotics in San Martin, California, classic American automobiles, modern performance machines, and aircraft came together against the rolling hills of the South Bay.

From polished chrome and vintage craftsmanship to contemporary automotive design, the gathering offered a remarkable mix of machines, personalities, and shared enthusiasm.

For Camera & Pen, it was an opportunity to explore the details and moments that make car culture worth documenting.

The Machines

Different generations, different philosophies, and different expressions of performance.

From classic American craftsmanship to modern supercars, the vehicles on display reflected the individuality of their owners and the enduring appeal of automotive design.

A Porsche With a Racing Spirit

Among the modern performance cars was a white Porsche 911 Carrera S with an unmistakable motorsport-inspired character.

Its gold wheels, contrasting graphics, and purposeful details brought a distinctive presence to the airfield.

Beyond its appearance, the car offered an opportunity to study the smaller design elements that make the 911 such a recognizable automotive silhouette.

American Iron: The Chevrolet C10

Some vehicles command attention without needing to announce themselves.

This two-tone green-and-white Chevrolet C10 brought vintage American character to the gathering. Its distinctive proportions, chrome accents, and carefully presented interior offered a reminder of an era when even a working pickup could become an enduring design icon.

From the engine compartment to the cabin, the details told a story of craftsmanship and preservation.
